Are you a compassionate and experienced nursing professional looking for a leadership role in behavioral health? We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support our team in providing exceptional care to patients in a 54-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit. In this role, you will play a key part in supervising clinical staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a positive work environment.
What You'll Do:
Oversee and support nursing staff in delivering safe and effective patient care.
Ensure initial nursing assessments are completed within 24 hours of admission and reassess as needed throughout the patient's stay.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Facilitate efficient discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and external healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
Provide leadership by guiding and mentoring nursing staff, offering training opportunities, and ensuring professional development.
Monitor staff performance, conduct evaluations, and implement improvement plans when necessary.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital guidelines.
Assist in staff scheduling and resource allocation to maintain optimal patient care coverage.
Support a positive and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff.
What You Bring:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
License & Certification: Active RN license in Alabama or a multi-state compact license; CPR certification required.
Experience: Minimum of three years of behavioral health nursing experience.
Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities; ability to manage crisis situations with professionalism and empathy.
