Job Description
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs
- Establishing appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on a limited amount of equipment in the facility
- Performing timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work area
- Dismantling defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment
- Maintaining accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs
- Coordinating and making recommendations on work-related contracts and services
- Supervising outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance
- Participating, supporting, and complying with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
Qualifications
- Must have mechanical and technical aptitude
- 1-3 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
- Must be insurable and possess a valid Driver’s License
- College degree or certificate in a technical area or related field
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Ability to use basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
- Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry
- Obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry picker
