### About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Multiple Peril (CMP) Underwriter to join our underwriting team. This role is essential in assessing, underwriting, and managing a diverse portfolio of commercial risks. You will analyze risk exposures, apply sound underwriting principles, and make informed decisions to support profitable growth. ### Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate property characteristics, claims history, and other relevant data to assess insurability and risk levels.
- Conduct risk analysis and assessments in accordance with underwriting guidelines and state regulations.
- Make decisions on insurance applications, including acceptance, rejection, or modification, based on underwriting policies.
- Collaborate with agents, brokers, and customer service teams to communicate underwriting decisions and address inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company underwriting standards.
- Regularly review the assigned book of business to maintain a balanced portfolio and identify growth opportunities.
- Stay informed on market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to adjust underwriting practices as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and product updates.
### Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- 4+ years of commercial underwriting experience, specifically with CMP products.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property and liability coverages, underwriting guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to make sound decisions efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace applications.
### Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designations such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or AU (Associate in Underwriting) are a plus.
- Experience working in a multi-state environment with knowledge of state-specific regulations.
