Educational Support Specialist

Our program is delivered indoors and out, at our beautiful campus in the Portola Neighborhood of San Francisco, in McLaren Park, and at Hawk Creek Farm.

For the 2025-2026 school year we are looking for an Educational Support Specialist to serve as a full-time, salaried faculty member. The Educational Support Specialist works primarily with the Grades classes (1-8), with occasional support in the Kindergarten program, as needed

The Educational Support Specialist will:

• be committed to working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
• work closely with teachers to support students PEPs/IEPs and help differentiate curriculum
• contribute to weekly cohort meetings and discussions of larger issues related to the grades or Early Childhood programs
• provide leadership on school-wide policies/procedures to support academic and behavioral challenges
• support an environment that fosters the education of the whole human being
• conduct individual and grade-specific student assessments as needed
• conduct assessments for rising first graders, rising 3rd graders and rising 6th graders

Requirements:

• An advanced degree/training in education, special education, or a related field
• Training and experience providing educational support to grades 1–8, and ideally to Kindergarten as well

Qualified candidates have experience:

• Writing, updating and maintaining PEP’s/IEP’s
• Supervising PEP/IEP implementation
• Differentiating curriculum
• Educating students, teachers and parents about learning differences
• Competency and comfort with information technology
• Understanding proactive discipline strategies, an openness to restorative justice practices, and ability to support school-wide efforts to implement these practices

Pedagogical Director

Compensation:

$68,000 Base + Add-ons for years of experience
