Job Overview:
EKG Technicians work with doctors and technologists and specialize in electrocardiogram (EKG) testing for both inpatients and outpatients and are responsible for attaching and reconciling orders.
EKG s are done by attaching wires and electrodes to a patient's chest, arms and legs. EKG Technicians monitor the readings, make sure the machine is attached properly and in working order, and record the results of the EKG tests. EKG Technicians are responsible for editing and forwarding final test outcomes to EKG management system for attending physician to analyze and interpret data. EKG Technicians keep equipment in good working order and check the quality of recorded data, perform assessments on patients of various conditions and ages, consider the physical and physiological needs of every patient, and develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations with other department personnel.
