Job Title: Engineer II
Salary: $7,546.71 - $9,825.69, depending on experience
Job Bonus up to $6,000

Klamath County is seeking a talented Engineer II to join our Public Works team. In this hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to design and oversee construction projects that build the foundation for our growing community.
Key Responsibilities - Participate in designing engineering plans and specifications for road construction and maintenance projects
- Administer county road contracts, overseeing construction to ensure compliance with standards
- Coordinate survey crews and collect field data for project design and implementation
- Inspect construction work to enforce adherence to plans and specifications
- Perform bridge inspections and identify necessary repairs
- Operate surveying equipment like theodolites and electronic distance meters
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, Civil Engineering, or related field and 7-10 years of experience in the Design Engineering field with a focus on civil projects, including roads and bridges
- Experience in engineering technology and knowledge of civil engineering principles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, database software, and engineering tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Either a current Oregon Professional Engineer License OR current engineer license in another state with the ability to apply for reciprocity in Oregon within a year of employment
