Job Description

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, seeks a paid intern to join its Federal Government Relations team.

1. Assist the Federal Government Relations team with various tasks.
2. Attend Capitol Hill meetings with team members.
3. Research small business policy issues and draft documents to support our advocacy efforts.
4. Attend and write memos on Congressional Hearings.
5. Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions.
6. Other issues assigned.

Paid internship - $20.00 an hour. Part time and will be hybrid - some time in office, some work from home. 

1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Relations or a related subject.
2. 0-1 years of work experience.
3. Ability to work 20 hours per week in a hybrid work structure, requiring time in the office.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.
5. Interest in policy, political issues, and U.S. Federal government.
6. Experience with Microsoft Office
