Job Description

Overview  
The Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) is the main point of contact for ARCpoint Franchisees and acts as the liaison between the franchisor and franchisees. The FBC is responsible for supporting franchisees with anything related to their franchise operations. They work to understand areas of opportunities in business development, operations, profitability, branding, and growth. They identify improvement plans and recommendations to improve Franchisee top and bottom-line performance.

Key Responsibilities  

  • The primary function of the FBC is to drive corporate strategy and initiatives to the unit level to achieve the desired financial and operational outcomes at the franchise locations they are responsible for. 
  • The FBC is responsible for serving in the capacity of a business consultant, providing analysis of the existing practices of the franchisees in their respective regions and making recommendations for improvements. In particular, the FBC leverages the collective data and financials derived from the broader system to provide analysis driven recommendations and support.
  • The FBC will assist franchisees in setting growth goals and developing financial, marketing, and operating plans to achieve those goals.
  • The FBC will maintain and apply a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure franchisee unit level profitability. Including the ability to review and analyze a store level P&L statement.
  • They will provide financial education, planning, benchmarking, and coaching to franchisees, ensuring that franchisees are following ARCpoint’s financial standards and best practices.
  • The FBC must have the ability to think strategically, analyze data, and exercise creative problem-solving that will contribute to the success of franchisees.
  • Communication and relationship building are key to the FBC role. The FBC must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, influence franchisees and provide clear and concise recommendations.
  • Comparative benchmarking will be a necessary part of this process to establish potential business impact and create a positive spirit of competition, as applicable.
  • The FBC will also be responsible for gathering relevant best practices from the field and presenting them to the Company with supportive data to assist with the continuous upgrading of the Operating System and further propagation of best practices.
  • The FBC will promote system-wide uniformity, adoption, and adaptation of ARCpoint programs, operational standards and procedures and develop programs to monitor each franchise location’s performance against standards.
  • The FBC will be expected to meet in person with each of the franchisees they support annually and will be expected to have scheduled calls with each franchisee they work with monthly.

Key Performance Indicators

Specific initiatives and performance metrics will be established for each FBC. The achievement of these metrics will be considered as part of the overall performance appraisal and earned bonus amounts. Standard KPIs that FBCs are responsible for on an ongoing basis include the following unit level metrics:

  • Revenue
  • Profitability
  • Maintaining Brand Standards
  • Implementation of Operating Systems (MAPL. TR)
  • Adoption of Key Initiatives
  • Documented Communications/Site Visits
  • Annual Marketing & Business Plan

Performance Expectation  
FBCs will be evaluated based on their ability to effectively serve in the role, the achievement of the specific metrics established in the period and standard KPIs, and the way they accomplish them.

Core Competencies  
Ability to self-manage while working remotely, to organize and communicate (speaking, written, presentation), and the strong ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. Strength in relationship building, diplomacy, urgency, collaborative approach, strategic thinking, analytical reasoning and decision making, creative problem solving, and emotional Intelligence skills. 

Education & Experience:   

  • Undergraduate degree required; Marketing, Business or Finance degrees preferred.
  • Approximately seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience of direct franchisee support in an established franchise system as a franchisee or as a corporate employee that is franchisee facing.
  • Industry knowledge (Lab, Medical, Healthcare) a plus
  • Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time across the US
