Graphics/Rendering Engineer – AR and Virtual Production 

  Join Our Revolution in Virtual Production 

At Fuzzy Door Tech , we’re transforming content creation for Hollywood films, streaming platforms, and digital media with projects like ViewScreen , reshaping how AR and cinematic storytelling converge. We’re a small, agile team pushing the boundaries of virtual production. 

Location: Fully remote (WFH) with occasional travel; Bay Area or LA-based candidates are a plus 

Your Mission: Ignite Visual Innovation 

Revolutionary Render Pipelines 

• Push Unity’s URP and HDRP to deliver stunning visuals and top-notch performance across native platforms (iOS, OSX, Windows). 
• Collaborate with developers, artists, and producers to profile and eliminate rendering bottlenecks. 

Shader Alchemy 

• Design, code, and refine shaders using HLSL, Shader Graph, Compute Shaders, and advanced techniques. 
• Rapidly prototype new shading methods to create hyper-realistic materials and dynamic lighting. 

Cinematic Lighting & Post-Processing 

• Integrate cutting-edge lighting models, global illumination, and post-processing effects for immersive, cinematic experiences.
• Contribute to virtual production projects that blend real-time graphics with traditional film and streaming media. 

AI-Enhanced Workflow 

• Leverage innovative AI tools to optimize existing processes and enhance development—augmenting creativity and streamlining workflows while respecting Hollywood’s artistic standards. 

Performance Optimization 

• Conduct deep CPU/GPU profiling and optimize graphics workloads for mobile, desktop, and AR devices.
• Work closely with QA and release teams to consistently exceed performance benchmarks. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner with artists, technical experts, and producers to define and achieve bold visual targets. 
• Provide technical guidance and champion best practices across the team. 

What You Bring 

Unity Rendering Expertise 

• Mastery of Unity’s rendering pipelines (URP, HDRP) with a proven track record in elevating visual fidelity while optimizing performance. 

Shader Programming Genius 

• Proficiency in HLSL and Shader Graph, with a portfolio that demonstrates advanced shader work and PBR expertise. 

Graphics & Rendering Know-How 

• A passion for real-time rendering, advanced lighting, volumetric effects, and deep knowledge of GPU architectures and compute techniques. 

Performance Optimization Pro 

• Demonstrated ability to profile and eliminate performance bottlenecks in complex visual systems. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). 
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in graphics programming, real-time rendering, or game engine development. 
• We value raw talent: We’re open to trading traditional years of experience for drive, passion, and innovation. 

Bonus Points 

• Experience with AR platforms (ARKit, ARCore, HoloLens, Magic Leap). 
• Background in cinematic or film production pipelines for virtual production. 
• Familiarity with other game engines (Unreal, custom in-house solutions), AI-enhanced tools, and scripting (C#, Python, Swift). 
• Experience with team collaboration tools like Git and Jira. 

Compensation & Benefits 

• Salary is $110-200K, commensurate with experience
