Job Description

The Inn and Spa at Cedar Falls restaurant, Kindred Spirits, is looking for the right person to be a Host/Hostess-Server. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and outgoing personality. This person needs to have a flexible schedule with open availability and able to work breakfast and lunch shift, and dinner. They must be detail oriented and follow our guidelines for quality assurance. This individual must be able to take guest complaints and to help guests with any issues they might have. This person will be responsible for greeting guests with a smile as they enter the restaurant, confirming guest reservations in the system, seating them at their assigned table and making sure the servers know their tables have arrived. They will also clean and sanitize menu books as well as help bus tables, do dishes, and run food if needed. This person will also be asked to wait tables and to bartend if necessary (we will train the right person for this). You will be working along with staff to ensure quality service to all customers. • Greet guests in a friendly manner when they arrive at the restaurant
• Confirm guest reservations and seat them at the proper table
• Give guests food and drink menus
• Use the reservation system to check guests in an out
• Serve our guests with excellent customer service
• Help bus tables, run food, and occasionally do dishes as needed
• Bartending when necessary

Qualifications:

• Have an outgoing, friendly personality
• Willing to be a team player
• Must be able to talk to guests
• Have general knowledge of the area, hiking trails, etc.
• Be willing to learn
• Have transportation
• Ability to give excellent customer service
• Detail oriented
