Job Description

Position Objective:
The Houseperson is responsible for ensuring that all event spaces are properly set up, maintained, and refreshed according to the requirements of upcoming events. This includes moving and arranging furniture such as tables, chairs, and staging equipment, as well as maintaining cleanliness and readiness of event areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and functional environment for guests and clients.

POSITION FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

• Ensure all areas of the Clubhouse and other common areas are clean and maintained according to Club standards.
• Greet all members, guests, and employees in a warm, friendly, and service oriented manner.
• Set up and break down of event rooms to prepare for events throughout the week.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Club standards, as required by scheduling which may vary according to the needs of the Club.
• Perform duties in a positive, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
• Be knowledgeable of Club services, features and events.
• Follow detailed procedures and cleaning schedule to ensure Clubhouse and common areas are always maintained to Club standards. Inspect these areas daily.
• Empty all wastebaskets and cigarette containers.
• Take trash to dumpster.
• Vacuum carpets and mop floors throughout the club and dining areas.
• Dust rooms, furniture, and exercise equipment.
• Transport linen to and from the linen or laundry room.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry.
• Report any damage, burned-out light bulbs, and plumbing problems to appropriate Manager.
• Always comply with health and safety standards to encourage safe and efficient operations.
• Perform other duties assigned by manager.
• Some handy work and food service work required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• High school education or equivalent required.
• One year of comparable housekeeping experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of how to maintain, clean and preserve a wide variety of building, furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Detailed-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
• Strong member/guest service skills, high internal standards of quality and service.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
• Demonstrated results-oriented and capable of working independently with minimal direction.
• Excellent team player with ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Requires the ability to safely lift items up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to perform strenuous work lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
• Be physically able to grasp, reach, bend, twist, and kneel.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
• Must be effective in listening to, and understanding.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor setting. Some varied weather conditions are expected with exposure to heat/humidity, or cool/cold weather. Job has the potential to expose the employee to human blood or infectious materials. May work with caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles. Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal.

Pay : $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week.
