Job Description

Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Industrial Electrician for a local client in Anderson, SC. Candidates who have a background working as an Electrician an industrial setting are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary:

• Maintain and trouble shoot all existing Electrical / Electronic Equipment / Systems and assist in installation of new equipment and systems. Maintain the integrity of the plant power distribution systems. Troubleshoot plant equipment. Mechanical troubleshooting and installation are necessary to perform the duties of this job.

• Must Be Able to Read, Understand, & Follow Written Instructions, must be able to write.
• Must be able to complete basic math problems.
• Good computer/calculator skills.
• 3 to 5 years of documented electrical experience or Associate's Degree in Industrial Electronics or Technical Certification in Industrial Electronics.
• Prefer someone with mechanical experience.
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives.
• Prefer someone with the ability to trouble shoot equipment. Must have electrical experience, preferably industrial.
• Prefer PLC Logic Knowledge.
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads.
• Will be required to work some weekends, holidays and overtime when required.
• Will be required to be available for on-call handling of electrical problems and/or outages and normal maintenance call-ins.
• Must work well within a team environment or as an individual. Must be proactive in addressing department needs.
• Must demonstrate Mechanical/Electrical aptitude by written exam/and-or demonstration.
• Standard learning period 24 weeks OJT.
• Serve as an On The Job Instructor; Periodically train others to perform job.
