Under the general direction of the Fleet Operations Section's Captain, the Information Technology Specialist (ITS) II is responsible for demonstrating a depth and expertise in the Software Engineering and Systems Engineering related to the departmental patrol vehicle integrated technology. This position plays a major role in advising and forming information technology strategy for the evolving technology within the enforcement vehicle environment. The ITS II will perform a wide variety of software development tasks requiring innovative problem solving and a high level of technical expertise in software programing and vehicle interface methodologies to ensure the enforcement vehicle operates as needed.
This is a developer position responsible for writing code, performing software deployments, developing technology integration solutions, and conducting release management activities regarding the interface operations of the radio and emergency technology equipment on the enforcement vehicle. The ITS II will define and design software solutions; create and lead the design of new system architecture and technology interface for the patrol vehicle communications and emergency equipment, troubleshoot, track and conduct root cause analysis of the software and operation issues in the enforcement vehicle environment for the FOS.
