IT Cyber Security Career Development Program

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a IT Cyber Security CDP for JBS that reports onsite to the data center in Richardson, Texas.

JBS is seeking candidates for a part-time IT Career Development role at our Office in Richardson, TX. The intent of this position is to provide a year-round, entry-level position to currently enrolled college students on our IT team. This is an exciting, year-round opportunity for candidates who excel in a busy, achievement-oriented environment and obtain relevant work experience that can lead to long-term placement with JBS. School credit may be available.  

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot & resolve technical issues  
• Provide clear and accurate guidance to customer groups regarding how to successfully adopt and implement technological solutions into their environment  
• Maintain documentation and training material for supported services  
• Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel  
• Provide hands-on help to other IT groups  
• Participation in process improvement discussions and meetings  
• Provide support to user groups after a project and obtain feedback to be used as catalyst to optimize the system further 
• Provide user access provisioning and user account setup
• Work with the team to analyze and establish security requirements 
• Participle in installing, administering and troubleshoot computer security solutions
• Reporting security statuses and incidents 
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Required: Actively pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in IT 
• Preferred availability around 25 hours per week (must be within the hours of Monday-Friday 7am-5pm), year-round  
• 1-2 years IT classwork or work experience required
• Self-motivated  
• Ability to multi-task and strong work ethic  
• Ability to successfully work under strict deadlines  
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory
• Basic knowledge of computer networking and systems security 
• Problem solving and analytical mindset 
• Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
