Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY 10029
Work Schedule: Sundays Only | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours per Day: 8.5 | Hours per Week: 8.5
Patient Volume: 10–12 patients per shift
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accuracy in diagnostic imaging. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent patient communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:Perform MRI imaging procedures per established protocols.
Prepare and position patients for scans to obtain optimal diagnostic quality images.
Operate MRI equipment and related technologies, ensuring proper calibration and function.
Review patient safety screening forms and enforce MRI safety protocols, including zone clearance.
Educate patients on procedure details, expectations, and any necessary preparation or aftercare.
Administer contrast agents and operate power injectors using aseptic technique.
Label and transmit images accurately to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in imaging rooms; ensure infection control compliance.
Complete all required documentation and scheduling tasks in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
Assist physicians during procedures when required.
Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.
Attend mandatory in-service training and professional development sessions.
Maintain compliance with Article 35 of the Public Health Code and all licensing requirements.
Education:
Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT-approved program in Radiologic Technology
Licensure & Certification:
Valid New York State License (L.R.T.)
NY State IV Certification
MRI Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Current BLS Certification
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience performing MRI scans
Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and imaging protocols
Ability to manage patient flow efficiently and scan 10–12 patients per day
