About the Role
As a Part-Time Outreach Specialist, you'll play an important role in helping families access vital public benefits by meeting them where they are—at laundromats! This position is perfect if you enjoy chatting with people, are passionate about supporting your community, and want to make a real difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with Families: Strike up friendly conversations with people in laundromats, build trust, and share useful information about public benefits.
Provide Support & Education: Explain various benefit programs, assess eligibility, and guide families through the application process in a clear and straightforward manner.
Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 8-hour shifts, with the option to add Monday shifts.
Minimum Hours: 16 hours per week required.
Compensation: $21 per hour.

Adaptable: You're comfortable working in various laundromat locations and can easily adjust to new environments.
Self-Motivated: You take initiative and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Must-Have Qualifications

Comfortable with In-Person Outreach: Ready to spend your workday engaging with people in laundromats—no laundry required!
Reliable Transportation: Able to travel between different locations in the Philadelphia area.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using basic technology to track and report activities.
Authorized to Work in the U.S.: Applicants must be authorized to work without sponsorship.
Bonus Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish): A plus, helping you connect with even more families.
Familiarity with Public Benefits: Helpful, but not required.
Service Experience: Alumni from AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, or similar service programs are encouraged to apply!
