Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior HR Generalist to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in the administration and support of HR processes, procedures, and systems at our Chicago plant. You will lead all HR initiatives on-site, ensuring a supportive and engaging work environment for our team members. Please note that this position is fully onsite, with no hybrid or remote options available at this time.
Essential Job Functions:
- **Drive HR Programs:** Develop and implement HR programs and policies tailored for the plant.
- **Employee Communications:** Lead effective employee communication strategies to foster a transparent workplace.
- **Employee Relations:** Manage employee relations issues, providing guidance and support in counseling, coaching, and corrective actions.
- **Recruitment Management:** Oversee all recruiting efforts for the site, from sourcing candidates to full-cycle recruiting, with support from the HR Specialist.
- **Job Promotions:** Facilitate the internal job promotion and interview process, ensuring fairness and transparency.
- **Engagement Events:** Coordinate and facilitate a variety of employee meetings, engagement events, and training sessions.
- **Leave Management:** Manage site leaves of absence, including FMLA, short-term disability, and personal leaves.
- **Attendance Coaching:** Track and monitor attendance, coaching employees and supervisors to promote accountability.
- **Recognition Programs:** Create and implement reward and recognition programs to enhance performance in alignment with business objectives.
- **Onboarding:** Welcome and onboard new employees, leading engaging new hire orientations.
- **Safety Compliance:** Collaborate with the Corporate EHS Coordinator to ensure compliance with safety and health training, and assist with incidents related to injuries, illnesses, and Workers' Compensation.
- **Mentorship:** Support, mentor, and manage the site HR Specialist to foster professional development.
- **Corporate Projects:** Assist the Corporate HR team with various company-wide projects and initiatives.
- **Job Descriptions:** Update and maintain current job descriptions to reflect organizational needs.
- **HRIS Maintenance:** Ensure accuracy in the HRIS for all employee records.
- **Legal Compliance:** Ensure compliance with City of Chicago ordinances and relevant state and federal laws.
- **Record Keeping:** Maintain proper record keeping and employee file management.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Training:
On-the-job training will be provided and supplemented with external seminars and classes.
Qualifications:
- **Education:** Bachelor's Degree required.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 7 years of prior HR experience with a strong HR Generalist background. Experience in manufacturing is highly preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Prior union experience is preferred but not required.

Salary: $ 110,000.00 115,000.00 Per Year
