Job Description

DESCRIPTION

As a UX writer focused on conversational design, you’ll be instrumental in defining and refining user interactions within our AI-powered conversational product. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, engineers, and data scientists to deliver an optimized, cohesive, intelligent conversational experience that delights our sellers. You’ll help shape and test key features, onboard APIs, and optimize hero use cases, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and user satisfaction.

About you
You’re a designer who’s passionate about leveraging conversational AI to solve meaningful problems. You're a precise communicator with a discerning ear for voice and tone, and you have the ability to ruthlessly eliminate the unnecessary. You’re obsessed with understanding the nuances of how our customers think, and you fiercely advocate on their behalf for the best possible solutions. You strive to ensure that customers have the right information—presented in perfect harmony with the visual and interactive design elements of the UX. You quickly gain expertise in the products and services to which you provide content, using them with the mindset of the customer. You proactively gather data to inform your decisions, and demonstrate sound judgement when faced with ambiguity. You identify opportunities and risks, escalate effectively, and ensure resolution.

Key job responsibilities
General
• Work with cross-functional partners to onboard, test, troubleshoot, and align functionality with conversational content design principles.
• Partner with product and UX teams to design and optimize conversational features that enhance user engagement and address critical user needs.
• Participate in the ideation and development of new conversational features, translating complex processes into simple, intuitive conversational flows.
• Develop user journeys and personas to guide the design and refinement of key features, advocating for a user-centered approach.
Conversational quality evaluation
• Conduct regular assessments of conversational interactions to ensure high-quality responses, clarity, consistency, and relevance.
• Identify patterns, gaps, and improvement opportunities in conversational flows, leveraging data-driven insights and user feedback.
API and feature onboarding and integration
• Partner and collaborate with engineers, science and product teams to optimize and understand API/feature functionalities. Work with design to integrate workflows and map API capabilities to conversational use cases.
• Define and document requirements for API-based interactions, ensuring a smooth, user-friendly experience when new APIs and features are incorporated.
Design conversational hero use cases
• Design hero use cases that showcase the capabilities and value of conversational solutions, ensuring these cases set a high standard for quality and functionality.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define tone, style, and language that resonates with users and aligns with our brand.

A day in the life
A typical day could start with meeting with key stakeholders and design partners to discuss the scope and requirements of an ongoing project. After these initial meetings, your focus would shift to concentrated, collaborative work to develop the right content to support the user experience. This could involve research, writing, editing, ideation, evaluation, and refinement to craft content that effectively meets the user’s needs and aligns with our high standards for conversational quality. You will engage with stakeholders to refine content interactions. You may have multiple projects occurring simultaneously and will be responsible for managing dueling priorities.

About the team
You will be embedded in a UX team that owns the search, support, and communications experiences on Seller Central, the tool third party Sellers use to run their business on Amazon
Your peers will be UX designers, researchers, scientists, and product who are all addressing facets of seller workflows.
