Job Description

As a Web Developer, you will play a key role in the development, maintenance, and optimization of high-quality WordPress websites. You'll work alongside our design and content teams to create websites that are not only visually appealing but also easy to use and high-performing. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience and the overall success of our web presence.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, Maintain, and Optimize WordPress Websites
You'll work on developing and maintaining high-functioning WordPress websites that align with organizational goals. Your focus will be on ensuring smooth functionality, strong security, and peak performance at all times.

Theme and Plugin Customization
Customize and implement WordPress themes and plugins, tailoring them to meet specific needs. This includes ensuring compatibility and ease of use for our content and design teams.

Content and Structural Updates
Regularly update and restructure website content as per evolving organizational changes, data insights, and feedback. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to ensure content is relevant and aligned with our objectives.

Website Performance Optimization
You'll optimize websites for speed and performance, ensuring the best possible user experience. This includes conducting performance tests and making necessary improvements.

Security and Compliance
Safeguard our websites and platforms by ensuring they adhere to security standards and regulatory requirements. Implement security measures such as regular updates, patches, and proactive security checks.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting
Provide technical support by troubleshooting and resolving website-related issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.

Collaboration Across Teams
Work closely with our IT department and staff to ensure website reliability and uptime. You'll collaborate with design, content, and other teams to define solutions for user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) improvements.

Stakeholder Communication
Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring they understand the direction of projects and any updates or changes.

Other Responsibilities as Assigned
As a member of our dynamic team, you may be asked to take on additional tasks or special projects as they arise.

Qualifications:
Education:
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but relevant experience may be considered in lieu of advanced education.

Experience:

3+ years of hands-on experience in web development.
Proven expertise in WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, APIs, and multi-site networked websites.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, SOAP, and Bootstrap.

Technical Skills:

Experience with deployment tools like Git and WPEngine.
Proficient in troubleshooting websites and resolving issues quickly using tools such as DOM Inspector.
Familiarity with local development methods and testing websites across various browsers, platforms, and devices.
Knowledge of web security best practices and how to implement them effectively.
Experience with SEO and web analytics tools to improve website visibility and user engagement.
Basic understanding of graphic design principles and tools.
Familiarity with Terminal Command Line.
